Bananas taste mild and sweet with a distinct apple tone. The peel
is smooth and separates readily for the edible pulp when ripe.
They are shaped like miniature slender bananas. This small, crunchy
specialty banana is usually eaten out of hand or sliced in fruit
salads.
They
are familiar in Latin American, African and Asian cooking. Bananas
are very versatile fruits that can be eaten raw, either alone
or cut into slices and served with sugar and cream, wine or orange
juice. They can be roasted, fried or boiled, and made into fritters,
preserves, and jellies.
